Acrylic and gold ink on canvas, 80 × 120 cm.
There is a place in Bahia called Morro de São Paulo — my favourite place on earth. When I decided to truly paint, the first canvas had to be this one, and everything had to fit: night and sun, the sea, Yemanjá, carnival, nature, and the word ALEGRIA hidden among the flowers. I called it Morro de Saudade. If you know the place, you understand the name. It was my first painting — and this is where everything begins.
Founding work — artist's collection. Not for sale.
