Acrylic on Arches Aquarelle grain fin 300g (cold pressed) · 31 × 41 cm · 2026 · Original, one of a kind · Arcádia series
Marrakech, reduced to one shape. A terracotta arch against ultramarine, and the passage of darkness underneath it.
In the medina you walk through dozens of these without noticing. What I remember is not any particular one but the rhythm of them, and the fact that an arch is a doorway drawn in mid-air.
The terracotta is worked and modulated where the rest of the surface is flat. It is the only place in the painting where you can see the brush.
